Like many love stories, Hickory Meadow began with a love story. Owners Max and Haley Gerber moved to Charlotte, Tennessee in July 2016 to live on their family farm. Generations earlier, Max’s grandfather purchased the farm piece by piece during WWII, sending funds from his time overseas to his wife back home so she could purchase the land. Decades later, Max and Haley set out to honor the love that built their homestead by reimagining the property as a one-of-a-kind wedding venue.
While COVID delayed the grand opening of their venue, the first Hickory Meadow wedding was held on May 30, 2020. They’ve been making wedding dreams come true ever since.
Details of the Grounds
Begin your wedding day by getting ready with your respective parties in the Bridal Suite and Groom’s Suite. The Bridal Suite features a private entrance, a private bathroom, a makeup counter with four stations, and full-length mirrors for that final fit check. The Groom’s Suite hosts a bar, a TV with surround sound and video game consoles, and a putting green to keep everyone entertained until it’s go-time.
Hickory Meadow offers four distinct sites for a beautiful wedding ceremony. The Grove is a beautiful clearing amidst tall trees, creating an intimate sanctuary perfect for a beautiful vow exchange (with room for up to 200 people; the other three sites can accommodate up to 250 guests.) The Front Lawn uses the Barn’s clean black and white exterior as a backdrop for a rustic yet elegant setting. The Patio offers sweeping views of the surrounding property for a scenic ceremony.
Lastly, you can always get married inside the barn for a beautiful (and temperature-controlled) ceremony – the Hickory Meadow team will help you efficiently flip the space so you can get the celebration started ASAP!
The Barn is a beautiful, open space for a reception with plenty of room to host up to 250 guests. The space has soaring ceilings lined with rich wooden panels and tall windows that let in floods of bright natural light. Its neutral white walls serve as a beautiful blank canvas for your unique wedding color palette and vision, so you can bring your vision to life.
Photography Opportunities
The surrounding property of Hickory Meadow features beautiful trees, open meadows, and endless Tennessee blue sky – all of which will come to life in romantic wedding photos. The barn’s exterior adds a fun rustic touch to pictures, as do features like wooden fences. The nearby forest is great for elegant tree shots, and they come to life in the fall with gorgeous autumn foliage.
Wedding Details
Hickory Meadow offers plenty of flexibility when choosing your vendors, except bartenders (they’ll provide you with the vendor you must use for bar services.) Everything else is up to you! However, they have a list of recommended vendors to suggest should you need inspiration.
When it comes to décor, Hickory Meadow has plenty of items that you are welcome to use for free of charge. While some furniture is included in your contract, you can upgrade to more luxury items like farmhouse tables. Fire pits, drapery, and stand heaters are also available to rent directly from the venue!
