North Star Gatherings is a family-owned venue founded by Evin and Barry Urban, who fell in love with the mountains after moving to Denver. They purchased a parcel of mountain property and began building a contemporary venue space with 100% solar power. Since opening in 2020, North Star Gatherings has been in high demand by couples seeking a spectacular mountain venue that is both eco-friendly and accessible!

Details of the Grounds

North Star Gatherings was built from the ground up with weddings in mind, making their space ideal for couples looking for a balance of rustic mountain wilderness and modern amenities. With space for up to 170 guests, you can celebrate with all of your favorite friends and family.

You and your partner, along with your respective wedding parties, can begin your day by getting ready in one of two spaces: The Wedding Loft and the Geodome. The Wedding Loft is the ultimate getting-ready spot with plenty of mirrors, outlets, bright natural light, and comfortable furniture. It’s also a great spot to take a quick moment away from the excitement of your celebration if needed. The geodome serves as an excellent space for pre-ceremony lounging and dressing, surrounded by towering Aspens and wildlife. 

Your outdoor ceremony can occur on the stunning ceremony deck overlooking the Continental Divide. Breathtaking views of mountain peaks and valleys will be your backdrop, enhanced by a chic wrought iron railing and strings of romantic market lighting. For cocktail hour, guests can enjoy a drink at the built-in bar while overlooking views of the magnificent Rockies.

Then, your reception will occur in the bright and modern Great Hall. The large, open space has clean white walls and dark wrought-iron touches for a truly contemporary aesthetic. Dramatic light fixtures, a cozy gas fireplace, and walls of windows overlooking the mountains make it a truly special place to celebrate. 

 

Photography Opportunities

North Star Gathering’s astounding views offer spectacular photo backdrops from nearly every angle. Whether you’re getting married in the fall surrounded by vibrant autumn colors, in the winter amidst pristine snowfall, or in the summer for vibrant greenery, your pictures will be absolutely stunning. We can wander the hillsides for portraits amongst pines and aspens, capturing your love story against the gorgeous canvas of the Colorado mountainside. 

Wedding Details

There are a few details to remember when planning your wedding at North Star Gatherings. They do have a list of required vendors you’ll need to use for catering, bartending, and planning/coordinating (though all of them are professionals with plenty of experience and great reputations.) 

You may also consider hiring shuttles for guests to access the venue. However, North Star Gatherings has recommendations of shuttle companies you can use, some of whom may even offer discounts! The venue provides farmhouse-style tables, matte black steel cross-back chairs for your reception, and chairs and high-top tables for your ceremony and cocktail hour.
