The Kincaid house is a historic estate with beautiful English gardens and an iconic stone gazebo. It is home to a Dutch Colonial home designed by renowned architect Barber McMurray. Constructed in the 1930s as a homestead for Mr. and Mrs. Carl S Kincaid, the current homeowners are hospitality professionals Josh and Ryan. They acquired the property in 2021. Following the positive experience they had planning their own wedding, they realized their dream. They dreamt of owning a wedding venue to help other couples make their wedding dreams come true. Located just 30 minutes from downtown Knoxville, this beautiful estate offers a unique fairy tale garden aesthetic bursting with fresh romance.
When your Kincaid House wedding day finally arrives, you can gather with your bridal party and close family in the beautiful bridal suite. Located on the second floor of the main house, it’s a bright and open space. It houses plenty of natural light for great getting-ready photos and loosening up for an incredible day surrounded by all the people you love. A second dressing area in an adjoining building is perfect for your partner and their party to prepare for the big day.
It’s hard to resist the allure of saying “I do” in front of the Kincaid House gazebo. Its elegant stonework and dark-paned windows are distinctly gorgeous. Adorn the archways with florals in your signature wedding colors for an extra customized touch. However, you won’t need much additional decor to set the scene for a beautiful ceremony. Plus, you’ll be surrounded by lush English gardens, vibrant trees, and greenery for an almost castle-like setting.
When it’s time to celebrate, you have several options for your reception. The courtyard off of the main house is a beautiful area to entertain your guests. You can dine al fresco beneath the light of the stars and strings of romantic patio lights. It’s a lovely option for a fresh-air dinner party, surrounded by blue sky and beautiful gardens. It is complete with toasting to your love and dancing the night away. Alternatively, you can use the courtyard beneath the shelter of a semi-permanent tent structure, which is ideal for inclement weather or sunny, hot days.
The Kincaid House wedding offers many photo opportunities for couples, especially those pining after lush garden portraits. Holly, cypress, hydrangeas, crepe myrtle, and English boxwood are just a few of the plants thriving throughout the property, perfect to incorporate into pictures. The gazebo is one of the most iconic photo ops on the property, and you can use it in various ways. Use the exterior for rustic stone-heavy backdrops, or take advantage of the intimacy inside the gazebo. A winding staircase leading to the second story also offers a romantic take on couple portraits. Inside the house, another beautiful staircase and big, broad windows are perfect for individual photos, group shots, and cozy pictures of you and your new spouse.
The Kincaid House is now a dedicated event space, and owners Josh and Ryan have made many efforts to ensure that hosting an event at their venue is as smooth and stress-free as possible. While the venue doesn’t have required vendors, they require that all vendors be pre-approved by the Kincaid House. If you’re worried about timing, they have a pre-approved vendor list from which you can choose! There are a few other details you should keep in mind (regarding things like parking, security, etc.). They will answer all of your questions on an in-person tour when you see the venue yourself.
The Kincaid House is a gorgeous venue that can make any wedding dream a reality. I would love to make sure you have a dynamic wedding album as a time capsule of your once-in-a-lifetime Kincaid House wedding day so you can relive every moment over and over again. Reach out so we can talk about how we can make it all happen!
