Abigail and Devon celebrated the first day as husband and wife in a luxurious and intimate cabin in the beautiful Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. The entire family stayed in a cabin where they spent the whole weekend together celebrating. Mansion in the Sky—the cabin—held true to its name, with its 8,400 sq. ft and four story-decks overlooking the hilly mountains.
Abigail has been a dear friend of mine and my sister for many years. We were both honored when she asked us to be a part of her day. It’s so special when I have a close bond with the bride. To gift her with tangible memories of her day like photographing her while my sister styled her hair as she got ready was priceless.
September 6th, beginning to end, was magical in every way. Personal and sentimental touches were seen throughout the wedding day. The handcrafted flower arrangements were jaw-droppingly beautiful. Abigail had a tiny piece of her grandmother with her, placing her rings on her bouquet. The bride’s green-thumbed sister, Katy grew all the adorable succulent favors, one of which I still have today on my editing desk—a forever reminder of this extraordinary day I got to be a part of.
Following their beautiful and intimate ceremony, the bride and groom had a unique twist on the traditional cake, indulging their sweet tooths with creme brulee and cheesecake. Just as they were about to feed each other, a few bears joined the festivities. Luckily, the unexpected furry party crashers kept their distance on the back deck as the rest of the guests and wedding party celebrated the happy newlyweds. Following their wedding night, Abigail and Devon set off to a short mini-moon in Asheville.
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Scurlocks!
